Responsibilities:

  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team. Ensure best practices in software development are followed.

  • Project Ownership: Take end-to-end ownership of key projects, from design through implementation to deployment and monitoring.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with our CTO and Head of Product to set the technical roadmap and scope projects.

  • Implementation: Contribute to the codebase by writing high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code. Be ready to roll up your sleeves and tackle challenging technical problems.

  • Process Improvement: Help define and enhance our engineering processes to improve efficiency and quality.

  • Team Culture: Foster a positive and collaborative team environment where engineers feel valued and motivated.

You Might Be a Good Fit If:

  • Passion for Team Cultivation: You have experience leading and mentoring engineering teams and care about creating a thoughtful engineering culture.

  • Technical Proficiency: You have a solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design. You enjoy tackling complex technical challenges.

  • Ownership Mindset: You have experience in startup (or startup-like) environments where taking ownership and initiative is key to success.

  • Collaboration and Communication: You excel at collaborating with colleagues across the company and can effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical team members. You appreciate the importance of thorough documentation.

  • Mission Alignment: You are excited to have an impact on millions of teachers' lives through your work.

Our tech stack: We use React, React Native, Django, Postgres and GraphQL. In addition, we use Airflow, Vertex AI, Docker, Expo, BigQuery, Data Studio, and other Google Cloud Platform services.
