About Rosie

Rosie is reimagining family & home care.

We created a new category of care: flexible, on-demand childcare and household management, bookable by the hour or on a weekly cadence, backed by a bench of vetted Pros who learn your family's rhythms. Families finally have a way to get the help they actually need with a single text.

We've proven this works in Seattle. Austin is our first new city, and we need someone on the ground to make it real.

The Role

You'll be Rosie’s representation in Austin and the owner of getting the city off the ground. This is a deeply operational, in-the-field role. You'll recruit and interview Pros, run activations and events for families & Pros, onboard our first families & get to know them on a deep level, and work with Rosie HQ to setup the operations to make sure every session gets filled.

You'll work directly with our founders and Seattle ops team who will bring the playbook, strategy, tools and support. Your job is to take what’s worked in Seattle, add your own Austin-specific spin to it, and make it work, gearing up Rosie for our next city launch.

What you'll do

Onboard the first 100 Pros

  • Build Austin's Pro supply from zero: campus partnerships, community groups, job boards, referrals, in-person recruiting events, and other creative ideas

  • Onboard and activate new Pros so they're ready to take sessions quickly and perform well

  • Stay close to Pros week over week: check in and support issues early to build retention

Onboard the first 100 Families

  • Help define the first 5-10 neighborhoods Rosie should start in and recruit our founding Austin families through neighborhood outreach, parent communities, schools, local partners, referrals and other creative ideas

  • Plan and host activations and events that get Rosie in front of families (think playground pop-ups, parent meetups, partner events)

  • Onboard new families in a personalized & meaningful way so you understand what they need, and can match them with the right Pros

  • Turn early families into advocates and build the referral engine that makes the next family easier to find

Start the marketplace

  • Balance supply and demand in real time, focusing on the zip codes where density is building

  • Own the weekly scorecard and weekly WBR reviews with the founders

  • Troubleshoot what comes up on the ground - last-minute cancellations, coverage gaps, family or Pro concerns - and build systems, processes & tooling (with the help of HQ)

  • Learn what makes Austin different (commute patterns, going rates, where Pros come from), implement & document your learnings, and build upon the playbook for the next city

  • Experiment with a given budget for increased acquisition & retention across both supply and demand

  • Work with Rosie Marketing on brand awareness activations

Your first 90 days are about getting Austin up and running. Your success will be measured on Pro and family activations and weekly session hours.

Who you are

  • An operator who likes being in the field. You'd rather be at a campus career fair or a parent meetup than behind a dashboard, though you'll use both.

  • Great with people on both sides. You can interview and coach a 22-year-old caregiver in the morning and win over a skeptical parent in the afternoon.

  • Relentlessly organized. You can run recruiting pipelines, event calendars, onboardings, and scheduling at the same time without things slipping.

  • Numbers-aware. You know your weekly numbers cold and can tell us what's driving them.

  • Honest and self-directed. You make calls with incomplete information and tell the founders when something from Seattle isn't working in Austin.

Basic qualifications

  • Based in Austin (or relocating before start) with the ability to spend most of your time out in the community

  • 2+ years in operations, launches, recruiting, or field roles at a marketplace, staffing, or consumer services company OR previous founder

  • Experience running events, activations, or community-based outreach

  • Comfortable owning KPIs and reporting on them weekly

  • Comfortable with a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends for events

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience launching a new city or market for a two-sided marketplace

  • Background in childcare, home services, or family care

  • Existing network in Austin's parent communities, universities, or caregiver communities

  • Hands-on experience recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding hourly or gig workers

  • Experience at an early-stage startup where everyone wears multiple hats

Why join now
