About Rosie

Rosie is reimagining care, for families & for caregivers.
We created a new category of care: flexible, on-demand childcare and household support, bookable by the hour, backed by a bench of vetted and professionally trained Pros who know your family. Families finally have a way to get the help they actually need with minimal effort.
We're building the infrastructure that powers modern family life: a world where parents book care the way they text a friend, where caregivers build real careers doing work they're proud of, and where having support at home just feels normal. We're expanding to new cities, and we're just getting started.

The Role

This person will own Rosie's product from the ground up. You’ll work very closely with the founders deciding what to build and why, turning a simplified app experience & booking flow into the embedded lifelines for parents and the tools a Pro runs their career on.
You'll set the product strategy and stay close enough to the work to know whether it's landing. At this stage, that means you're as comfortable writing the spec and prototyping as you are reading the retention curve and cutting engineering scope. You'll build the product vision and the shipping engine at the same time, then hire the team that scales both.
We're hiring this as a fractional-to-full-time role. If you're a senior operator who wants to start part-time while you get to know us and the problem, that's a great on-ramp. As Rosie grows, the seat grows into a full-time founding leadership role, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow it with us. Transition into full-time not required.

Who You Are

Product builder: You've shaped how a product feels, not just what it does, and you can articulate why a flow works or doesn't. You care about the difference between a product people tolerate and one they can't imagine living without.
Two-sided product thinker: You get that a marketplace needs two products at once. The parent booking care at 11pm and the caregiver earning money experience Rosie differently, and you can build for both without compromising either. In fact, you think deeply about how they impact each other.
Systems- and AI-minded: Rosie is building AI-managed matching, scheduling & management. You know how to design a system that gets smarter over time, decide where a model earns trust and where a person still should, and ship it without waiting for it to be perfect.
Still in the work: You've led teams, but you haven't lost the ability to write the spec, design with prototypes, or build the data funnels yourself. At this stage the leader ships.
Category-minded: Rosie is building something families & Pros don't have language for yet. You know how to design for a new behavior, and you'd rather set the standard than copy the incumbent's playbook.
Calm at seed stage: You make confident calls with partial data, and you create clarity for the people around you instead of waiting for it. You are setting the company & industry standard.
Founder-aligned: You operate with real ownership. You treat the roadmap like your own bet and the mission like your own.

What You'll Do

Own product vision and roadmap: Decide what Rosie builds, in what order, and why. Turn the mission into a roadmap the team can ship against, and hold the line on what not to build yet.
Own the two-sided experience: Define how families and Pros each experience Rosie, from the first booking to the hundredth. Sharpen the family product and the Pro product until each side immediately gets it and keeps coming back.
Build the matching engine: Own the core loop — matching, availability, and scheduling — and drive Rosie toward AI-managed matching with a small, deliberate human-in-the-loop. Decide where automation earns trust and where it doesn't yet.
Own the product metrics: Take responsibility for activation, retention, session quality, and reliability across both sides of the marketplace. Know which numbers move the business.
Set the measurement foundation: Stand up the instrumentation, experiment discipline, and review cadence that keep the team honest about what's actually working.
Ship the 0→1 for new cities: Build the product playbook that lets Rosie launch a new city or service and feel local from day one, well before we have the density that makes it easy.
Build the team: Set the hiring plan for what you need, partner tightly with engineering, and set the highest bar for the craft you expect. Teach the whole team to think & act like product owners.

Basic Qualifications

7+ years of product experience, including time leading the function or owning a major product area end to end.
A track record shipping 0→1 or early-stage consumer product, ideally something people use in their daily lives.
Hands-on fluency across the whole build — discovery, spec, design, prototyping and shipping. You've personally driven the work and can still jump in when it counts.
Strong product judgment and taste. You can define an experience and defend your choices.
Comfort with product analytics, funnels, and experimentation.
Ability to work from Seattle on a hybrid basis, or remotely with travel at least once a quarter.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior 0→1 or founding product experience. Ex-founders, early operators, and to-be-founders very welcome.
Experience with consumer marketplaces, two-sided platforms, or parenting and care products.
Experience building AI- or ML-powered products, especially matching, scheduling, or automation with a human in the loop.
Open to starting fractional and growing into a full-time founding seat.
Comfort with AI tools across research, prototyping, and building. Always ahead of the curve on the best tools to work with.
Being a parent or ex-caregiver yourself! No better way to know what your customers want than being one of them.
