Managing and preparing tax filings, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations in all jurisdictions of our presence, and provision of strategic tax planning to minimize tax liabilities. The Tax Accountant will work closely with tax providers, tax consultants, finance team members and other departments to support the overall financial health of the organization.
What you’ll be doing:
- Ensure timely tax return preparation and filing, paperwork, and payments.
- Collaboration with tax services providers and provision them with necessary information and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with local and global tax laws and regulations, staying current with tax code changes and updates.
- Review and manage tax reporting and filings for accuracy and completeness including preparation and filing of federal and state returns not covered by providers.
- Handle VAT/GST/sales tax filings and compliance across applicable jurisdictions.
- Develop processes to ensure accurate indirect tax calculations and timely payments.
- Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and related disclosures for financial statements.
- Establish and maintain a process of deferred tax calculation for all subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with other accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, tax accruals and payments.
- Maintain organized and detailed records of tax-related documents and correspondence.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for tax purposes.
- Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities as required.
- Participate in company's global structure and transfer pricing model review
- Provide tax-related advice to internal stakeholders.
- Assist in training and educating staff on tax-related matters.
What you need to succeed:
- Higher degree in Accounting or Tax and 3-5 years of relevant work experience in taxes
- Strong understanding of state, local, and indirect tax laws and regulations.
- Superb time management and detail orientation
- Ability to keep company and partner confidence
- Proficiency with one of the commonly used accounting ERP systems, such as QuickBooks Online or NetSuite
- Strong communication skills in English
- A creative mind with the ability to suggest improvements
