Position Overview:

Polygence is seeking a Video Marketing Intern to join its team for the summer of 2023. We are looking to hire an intern with a strong understanding of TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram Reels to help unlock these platforms as valuable marketing channels. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the Gen-Z demographic and be passionate about creating engaging and entertaining video content to reach and resonate with our target audience. This internship offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in video marketing strategy, content creation, and audience analysis while working alongside Polygence's top-notch team.

Responsibilities:

TikTok Marketing:

  • Research and analyze trends, challenges, and content formats on TikTok that resonate with the US-based 16-18-year-old demographic.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop a comprehensive TikTok marketing strategy that focuses on organic growth and engagement.
  • Create compelling and shareable TikTok videos that align with our brand's values and resonate with the target audience.
  • Utilize TikTok analytics to track key performance metrics and adjust content strategies accordingly.

YouTube Marketing:

  • Explore YouTube as a search channel and understand its potential for driving organic traffic and engagement.
  • Conduct keyword research to identify relevant topics and optimize video titles, descriptions, and tags for improved discoverability.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create informative and engaging YouTube videos that provide value to our target audience.
  • Monitor YouTube analytics to track video performance, audience engagement, and conversion metrics.

Instagram Reels Marketing:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and content formats on Instagram Reels.
  • Develop creative Reels video concepts that align with our brand identity and resonate with the Gen-Z demographic.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to integrate Reels into our overall social media strategy and cross-promotional initiatives.

Content Creation:

  • Film and edit videos for TikTok, YouTube, and Reels, ensuring they meet brand guidelines and objectives.
  • Experiment with different video formats, storytelling techniques, and editing styles to optimize engagement and virality.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create eye-catching thumbnails, graphics, and other visual elements for video promotion.

Audience Research and Behavior Analysis:

  • Conduct research and surveys to better understand the behavior, preferences, and interests of our target audience (US-based 16-18 year olds).
  • Analyze audience feedback, comments, and engagement metrics to gain insights into content performance and improve future video strategies.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and platforms within the Gen-Z demographic, providing recommendations for innovative marketing approaches.

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of TikTok, YouTube , and Reels, including their respective algorithms, trends, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of the Gen-Z demographic and their preferences in video content consumption.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g. iMovie, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Photoshop).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey messages effectively through video content.
  • Creativity, critical thinking, and the ability to generate innovative ideas for video campaigns.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics tools (e.g., TikTok Analytics, YouTube Studio) is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Being based in the Bay Area is a plus, but not a necessity.
  • Having completed a Polygence project in the past is a plus.

Internship details:

  • Salary of $3,500/month

  • Timeline: June - August, 2023

  • Engagement: Full-time; remote or hybrid depending on location (our office is in Menlo Park)
  • Weekly meetings with co-founder/CEO Janos Perczel and daily collaboration with team members on the product and marketing teams
