Built at Stanford, PeerTeach is a data-driven platform that facilitates peer-to-peer teaching and learning in math classrooms for grades 4-12. PeerTeach trains all students in a class to be effective peer tutors using gamified tutor-training modules. Then it uses data on student compatibility, mastery, and past peer tutoring sessions to optimize matches for bursts of peer tutoring to fill in students’ learning gaps. Every student receives support when they need it, and every student coaches others when they have mastery, boosting their own understanding through teaching.
