Teaching kids to think critically and communicate effectively has never been more important, and NoRedInk helps students become better writers in more than 60% of U.S. school districts. We're looking for an RFP Writer contractor who will be responsible for crafting compelling and accurate responses to Request for Proposals from potential customers. Your primary objective is to create well-structured, persuasive documents that showcase NoRedInk’s capabilities, expertise, and alignment with the school or district's needs. This role requires a strong understanding of the organization's products or services, the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts, and excellent writing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

RFP Analysis:

  • Review and analyze incoming RFPs to understand client requirements, evaluation criteria, and submission guidelines.
  • Collaborate with sales, product, and technical teams to gather relevant information for the proposal.

Content Development:

  • Develop clear and concise content that addresses all components of the RFP, including executive summaries, technical specifications, and pricing details.
  • Customize standard proposal content to align with specific client needs and demonstrate a deep understanding of their challenges.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with subject matter experts, sales teams, and other stakeholders to gather accurate and up-to-date information for proposal inclusion.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure that all proposal responses comply with the requirements outlined in the RFP.
  • Conduct thorough quality checks to guarantee accuracy, consistency, and adherence to company standards.

Research:

  • Research to gather supporting data and statistics for use in proposals.

Deadline Management:

  • Develop and maintain a schedule to manage multiple RFPs simultaneously, ensuring timely submission of high-quality proposals.
  • Coordinate with various departments to obtain necessary approvals and signatures within deadlines.

Knowledge Management:

  • Maintain a repository of proposal content, templates, and supporting documents for future use.
  • Continuously update and improve content based on feedback and changing business requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in RFP writing, preferably in a technology or service-oriented industry.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using proposal management tools and software.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification in proposal management or a related field.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and government contracting (if applicable).
  • Experience writing RFPs for education or Ed Tech companies preferred.

To accommodate project needs and workload fluctuations, the hours for this contractor position may vary. While we strive to provide consistency, please be aware that your weekly hours may increase or decrease based on current project demands and business requirements. Flexibility in your schedule will be essential to adapt to these changes as they arise. Expected hours of work could range from 0-30 hours per week.

Hourly pay range: $50-$70
