Mercyhealth is seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to provide comprehensive obstetrical and gynecological care. This role involves participating in initial examinations, managing patient care, and delivering infants, while collaborating closely with Obstetricians. The successful candidate will instruct patients on prenatal health and postpartum care, ensuring a high standard of care for a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Participate in initial examination of obstetrical and gynecological patients and be responsible for their care, treatment, and delivery
• Provide antenatal, postpartum, well women exams and full scope gynecological care, including customary and credentialed office procedures
• Examine patients during pregnancy, utilizing physical findings, laboratory test results, and patient statements to evaluate condition
• Discuss cases with Obstetricians to assure observation of specified practices
• Instruct patients in diet and prenatal health practices
• Stay with patients during labor to reassure and administer medication
• Deliver infants and perform postpartum examinations and treatments
• Administer stipulated emergency measures and arrange for immediate contact of Obstetrician when deviations from standard are encountered
• Visit patients during postpartum period in hospital and at home to instruct in care of self and infant and examine patient
• Maintain records of cases for inclusion in establishment file
• Conduct classes for groups of patients and families to provide information concerning pregnancy, childbirth, and family orientation
• May instruct in midwifery in establishment providing such training
• May direct activities of other workers

Compensation

• PAY RANGE: $85,280 - $144,976

Requirements

• Master of Science in Nursing (MS)
• Licensed as an RN in the state of practice
• Licensed and Certified with experience in obstetrics
• CPR (other certifications based on unit requirements ACLS, NALS, PALS, etc.)
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Basic computer knowledge is beneficial
