Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking a hospital-based Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join their team at the Kent Campus Hospital. This role involves collaborating with OB/GYN physicians to provide specialty healthcare for women, focusing on intrapartum and immediate postpartum care, as well as managing common pregnancy-associated conditions. The successful candidate will work in a team-based, patient-centered environment, adhering to established protocols and standardized guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates and consults with Bayhealth physicians in accordance with practice guidelines and nurse-midwifery regulations
• Takes part in initial evaluation of all L&D patients, monitors course of labor and delivery, advises on proper health practices, takes tests as appropriate, and reports any complications to the obstetrician
• Prepares patients and their partners for delivery; trains mothers-to-be in exercise, breathing, and relaxation techniques
• Attends and reassures patient throughout the course of labor, monitors the fetus condition, administers medications, notifies physician of prolonged labor or complications indicating need for possible surgical intervention
• Delivers infant and checks mother and child to ensure that they are responding normally
• During postpartum period, visits mother and child to give additional instruction in feeding and care of the newborn
• Provides advice on family planning and performs gynecological services
• Participates in labor and delivery coverage

Compensation

• SALARY RANGE: $129,292.80 - $200,387.20 YEARLY

Requirements

• Education: Master Degree MIDWIFERY; Graduate of a midwifery program with certificate of nurse-midwifery
• Credential(s): Midwife Practitioner; Certified Midwife; Or equivalent certifying board or registry
• No experience necessary. New graduates welcome
• Participates in continuing education activities and obtains CEU's necessary to maintain state licensure and prescriptive authority
