Practice Info
- Mercy Hospital is a tertiary care facility and a Level 2 Trauma Center
- Collaborative work environment with Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants (CAAs), Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), and Medical Doctor Anesthesiologists (MDAs)
- Team tackles a wide variety of cases including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, plastics, vascular, cardiothoracic, gastroenterology, obstetrics, and some pediatrics
- 15 operating rooms, an endoscopy suite, and a cardio suite
Responsibilities
- Administers anesthesia to patients rendering them insensitive to pain during surgery
- Monitors the patient's physical reaction to the anesthetic and informs the physician of any adverse condition
- Administers emergency measures when complications arise
- Obtains a comprehensive patient history and performs relevant elements of a physical exam
- Discusses findings and anesthetic plan with supervising anesthesiologist before induction of anesthesia
- Reviews the patient's condition with the anesthesiologist immediately prior to the induction of anesthesia
- Pretests and calibrates anesthesia delivery systems
- Administers blood, blood products and supportive fluids
Compensation
- Minimum Annual Salary: $230,000
- Maximum Annual Salary: $299,000

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an institution of higher learning accredited by an organization recognized by the board of regents
- Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants
- Current, valid certificate of registration
- Written practice protocol consistent with section 4760.09 of the Revised Code
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) are required
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
