Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and psychosocial evaluations
  • Evaluate patient outcomes in collaboration with attending physicians and adjust treatment plans accordingly
  • Monitor and interpret laboratory, radiographic, and procedural data to support patient disposition decisions
  • Communicate assessment findings, diagnostic results, and treatment updates effectively to physicians, multidisciplinary team members, patients, and family members
  • Promote collaboration and open communication among healthcare team members, colleagues, and partner organizations
  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, side-effect management, and anticipatory guidance
  • Participate in and support clinical research protocols by interviewing patients, reviewing eligibility criteria, and identifying potential candidates for studies
  • Participate in the education and mentoring of advanced practice nursing students, house officers, and medical students

Compensation

  • Salary range: Min-$115,500 - Midpoint - $146,500 - Maximum - $176,500 based on a 40 hour work week

Shift & Schedule

  • Inpatient daytime role covering 6:30am-5:00pm
  • Working 7on-7off shift (Tuesday-Mondays)
  • Nocturnal shifts will also be supported by the hospitalist advanced practice providers for after-hours and weekend coverage, rotating holidays and COVID coverage

Requirements

  • Master's Degree Nursing or Doctorate Nursing Practice
  • Degree may be waived for applicants who obtained recognition as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse from the Texas State Board of Nursing prior to 1/1/2003
  • Graduate education and related Texas Board of Nursing authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population
  • Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse upon hire
