About the Broad <> Manifold Collaboration

Manifold is building the AI-native workspace for the world’s biomedical data. Our customers are the companies and institutes that discover and deliver medicines to patients. When their scientists spend a week wrangling data instead of thinking, patients wait. We want to give that week back, at scale, across the industry.

The Broad Institute represents a cornerstone strategic collaboration for Manifold. We collaborate closely to build what life sciences will need in the years ahead: pairing Broad's world leading expertise in biomedical science with Manifold's leading technology platform. As this collaboration has grown, so has its scope and complexity. We are bringing on a dedicated owner for this collaboration to unlock its full transformational potential.

About The Role

The Director, Strategic Accounts will drive the complete relationship spectrum with the Broad's leadership, from executive level leaders to operational stakeholders. You own the partnership on the ground, day to day, serving as Manifold's operational and programmatic point of contact, while also holding accountability for relationship health and growth. This role is a critical part of our Strategic Account Management function and reports into our VP, Strategic Account Management.

What You'll Do

  • Own Manifold's relationship with the Broad Institute, accountable for customer health, satisfaction, and account growth.
  • Be the operational engine of the partnership, working hand-in-hand with the Broad's executive team and business development counterparts to build regular cadence, real-time shared visibility, and clear alignment on what needs escalation.
  • Proactively identify and capture opportunities to grow the partnership, both by expanding usage among labs already on the platform and by bringing new labs onto Manifold.
  • Own the relationship with the BroadPIs that have significant federal grants (e.g., AnVIL and All of Us).
  • Steer and drive the Joint Steering Committee meeting. Owning the agenda and facilitating the discussions that matter most to the partnership's trajectory.
  • Own our internal coordination model and rhythm across Manifold’s account team for all aspects of the Broad relationship, such as Legal, Product, and Professional Services.
  • Drive proactive, institutional-level communication about the partnership across the Broad community, inclusive of the communication strategy and execution for the Terra platform user base, coordinating closely with Broad’s in-house communications group as needed.
  • Support the strategy for a freemium user population as the Broad and the larger Terra community transition from Legacy Terra to Terra Powered by Manifold.
  • Track and help triage grant-related enhancement requests as they surface, partnering with our Product and Legal teams on prioritization.
  • Report partnership status, rolling 90-day priorities, and adoption progress to the executive team on a regular cadence.

What You’ll Bring

  • 7+ years of experience managing large, complex account relationships where you are partnering directly with C-suite executives and navigating competing priorities across different functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to earn trust and credibility with PhD-level scientific and technical stakeholders, and able to navigate institutional-level complexity and ambiguity with confidence.
  • Experience running a program, product, or platform, ideally in a research-computing, grant-funded, or customer-facing commercial context, with exposure to how grant funding and academic budgeting work.
  • Strong listening and diagnostic skills. Have the ability to quickly and accurately identify a customer's problem and mobilize the right internal resources to solve it, quickly and effectively.
  • Comfort operating at the intersection of a large, matrixed academic institution along with multiple internal functions such as Legal, Product, & Professional Services.
  • Excellent relationship management and executive-level communication skills, including the judgment to know what to escalate versus what to resolve independently.
  • Familiarity with the Broad Institute or a comparable large research institution, including its funding structures and internal dynamics.
  • An advanced degree (PhD or equivalent) in life sciences, genomics, or a related scientific/technical field- or comparable experience that earns scientific credibility with PhD-level stakeholders.

Why Manifold

  • The opportunity to work at the frontier of AI in life sciences, helping the world's leading research and clinical institutions adopt transformative technology.
  • A high-autonomy, high-impact role where your work directly leads to positive customer outcomes and company growth.
  • Exposure to a wide range of technical and business challenges across oncology, genomics, and clinical data.
  • A collaborative team of engineers, scientists, and operators who are building something genuinely important.
  • Competitive compensation and equity in a high-growth company backed by leading investors.
