Lando is on a mission to transform after-school education. We believe in the power in being in-person, especially for young kids. Our technology delivers classes kids love and after school care that parents need, with interactions that pull students away from screens and towards each other.
In just a few months, we have grown to serve over 500 students a week across the Bay Area. Our seed stage startup is backed by top investors across consumer and education technology, including Maveron, Reach Capital, SNR, Ulu Ventures, and Black Capital.
About the Role
As the Bay Area General Manager, you will drive our operations, strategy, and growth. We're seeking a dynamic leader, brimming with an entrepreneurial spirit, and burning with a passion for improving children's learning experiences.
You will be a founding member of our leadership team, reporting to the CEO, and responsible for developing plans that ensure efficient and high quality growth. Along with this opportunity for impact, comes meaningful equity ownership in the company and a competitive salary.
Responsibilities
Safety: Ensure our operations follow safety policies that build trust with families and schools.
Hospitality: Pioneer best-in-class service processes and infrastructure to ensure high student retention and grow how much we serve each family’s needs.
Aspiration: Increase pride within our teaching team through ensuring consistently delivered, remarkable classes. Develop and lead a team of high performing Area Leads and Operation Leads.
Playfulness: Cultivate a fun, inclusive culture that attracts and retains a dedicated teaching team.
Efficiency: Manage the P&L for the Bay Area to ensure healthy growth and community impact.
Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of professional work experience, preferably in high-growth operations or startups.
Bachelor's Degree required, MBA is a plus
Proven ability to manage a P&L.
A track record of excellence in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Some experience managing groups of children (e.g. volunteer teacher, camp counselor) is preferred.
Compensation
We offer a starting salary ranging from $80,000 - $105,000, coupled with meaningful equity in a fast-growing company. Additional benefits include:

Location
This role will require visiting Bay Area schools and frequent team meetings in our Palo Alto and Mountain View offices.
