About Campus

Campus is on a mission to accelerate the talent of tomorrow and reimagine what college can (and should) be. The problem is clear: college costs have skyrocketed, but outcomes haven’t. Traditional college hasn’t kept up with the aspirations of today’s students—and they can’t afford to wait.

At Campus, we’ve built a two-year, accredited college where students learn from top professors at universities like Princeton, Stanford, and Howard, in live, online classes. Our students graduate with in-demand business and AI skills—ready to launch their careers or transfer to top four-year universities. Our unique approach is grounded in a pioneering technology platform and a heavily-researched student success model that offers students dedicated advisors and on-demand tutoring and coaching. We were also named one of Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2024.

We’re backed by an exceptional investor team that believes deeply in our vision for the future of education, including General Catalyst, Founders Fund, Bloomberg Beta, 8VC, Rethink Education, Sam Altman, Jason Citron, Shaquille O’Neal, and others.

The world has changed. Higher ed needs to catch up, and we’re leading the way - come join us!

About the role

We’re looking for a product-minded software engineer who is excited about AI tooling, rapid iteration, and building software that helps teams work better and faster. In this role, you’ll help build AI-native operational products used daily by teams across Campus. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, product leaders, and operational teams to develop tools powered by modern LLM workflows, conversational interfaces, workflow automation, and operational intelligence.

This role is not about maintaining large legacy systems or shipping incremental features inside a traditional product organization. It’s about building focused, AI-native operational tools for specific internal teams - fast. You’ll help us prototype and productionize these tools using modern AI workflows, conversational interfaces, automation systems, and rapid experimentation loops.

You’ll join a fast-moving team at a moment where AI is reshaping software and operational workflows across the company. The role offers significant ownership, mentorship, and the opportunity to grow quickly while building systems that have real impact at scale.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Build AI-powered internal tools used across admissions, course design, and student success

  • Develop conversational workflows, copilots, dashboards, and operational automation systems

  • Work directly with internal teams to understand workflows and rapidly ship improvements

  • Prototype new ideas quickly using modern AI tooling and coding agents

  • Experiment constantly with new workflows, interfaces, and operational tooling patterns

  • Contribute across the stack — frontend, backend, AI workflows, and infrastructure

  • Learn how to productionize AI systems in a fast-moving environment

  • Help define what software development looks like in an AI-first organization

We’re excited about you because…

  • You’re excited about modern AI tooling and are a very advanced users of AI coding tools

  • You have 1-3 years of software engineering experience

  • You have experience building and shipping production software

  • You’re highly product-minded and enjoy solving real operational problems

  • You move quickly and are comfortable working in ambiguous environments

  • You care about shipping useful software and iterating based on feedback

  • You enjoy working closely with users and learning their workflows deeply

  • You’re curious about how AI changes software development itself

  • You’re excited by ownership, autonomy, and fast iteration cycles

What you’ll get:

  • A compensation package that includes a base salary ($140k - $160k) + equity grant

    • Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary will be localized.

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) match

  • Fertility benefits via Carrot

  • Flexible Time Away + paid holidays

  • In-office lunches for our NY Office (did we mention, we’re dog friendly? 🐶)

  • Hybrid work schedule (Mon & Fri remote; Tues-Thurs in-office)

  • Social events - happy hours, birthday celebrations, holiday parties, & more!

  • Opportunity to make an impact – you’ll be an integral player in bringing our vision to life
