About the Role

The Legal Program Director provides academic and strategic leadership for Campus’s Associate of Science in Paralegal Studies and the development of future-forward legal degree and certificate programs. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality instruction, managing faculty, driving student success, and leading the comprehensive revision of Campus’s legal offerings to be nationally relevant, ABA-compliant, and industry-leading.

The Program Director will build and manage an industry advisory board, foster partnerships with law firms and employers, and design innovative pathways that prepare students for evolving roles in the legal field and the advancement of technologies within the industry. Working cross-functionally with Academic Operations, Curriculum, Student Affairs, Outcomes, and Partnerships, this leader will ensure that Campus’s legal programs remain accessible, equitable, and outcome-driven. As the face of the legal programs, the Program Director represents them both internally and externally, strengthening their reputation, scaling their reach nationwide, and positioning Campus as a leader in the future of sustainable legal education.

Key Responsibilities

Program Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead the vision and direction of Campus’s legal programs, beginning with a redesign of the Paralegal Studies associate degree for national impact.

  • Ensure alignment with ABA requirements and guide the program through the approval process.

  • Develop innovative certificate and degree pathways responsive to the future of legal work.

  • Create, recruit and manage an industry advisory board of legal professionals to guide curriculum design and ensure relevance to employer needs.

  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with law firms, corporations, nonprofits, and professional associations to expand opportunities for students.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to position the program publicly and elevate its national reputation.

Faculty Management

  • Partner with Academic Operations to recruit, hire, onboard, evaluate, and support faculty and teaching assistants.

  • Determine staffing needs aligned with enrollment and program growth.

  • Oversee quarterly observations and annual faculty evaluations; provide coaching, mentorship, and feedback.

  • Host regular lead faculty meetings and quarterly program town halls.

  • Supervise and support Lead Teaching Assistants.

  • Address and resolve instructional concerns, performance issues, and policy violations.

  • Use instructional data dashboards to monitor faculty performance and ensure teaching excellence.

Student Support & Engagement

  • Serve as the program-level point of contact for student concerns, grade appeals, academic dishonesty cases, and conduct issues, working in collaboration with Student Affairs.

  • Partner with the Registrar to review and approve program-level student transfers and degree changes.

  • Collaborate with Student Affairs to design co-curricular opportunities (e.g., legal workshops, moot court, legal tech training) that foster student engagement and professional growth.

Assessment, Data, and Outcomes

  • Monitor enrollment, retention, completion, and equity gaps; implement strategies for continuous improvement.

  • Lead annual program assessments and reviews with the Curriculum team.

  • Collaborate with the Outcomes team to ensure clear student pathways into legal careers and transfer opportunities.

  • Partner with Admissions, Enrollment, and Success teams to ensure program growth and achievement of student benchmarks.

Accreditation & Compliance

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with ABA standards and manage the program’s approval processes.

  • Support institutional accreditation (ACCJC) through documentation and reporting.

  • Maintain program-level policies, procedures, and accurate records of meetings and decisions.

Operational Management (with Academic Operations)

  • Collaborate with the VP of Academic Operations to manage program budget, workload planning, and instructional assignments.

  • Ensure teaching assignments align with enrollment, accreditation requirements, and fiscal priorities.

Instructional Responsibilities

  • Teach 6 courses per year as part of the base compensation package.

  • Model excellence in online, synchronous legal education and student-centered pedagogy.

Required:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Direct experience with ABA accreditation and compliance in paralegal or legal education programs.

  • 5+ years of experience in higher education with at least 2 years in academic or program leadership.

  • Demonstrated success in curriculum development and program redesign.

  • Experience managing faculty and instructional teams.

  • Familiarity with online teaching and learning platforms.

Preferred:

  • Experience scaling legal education programs nationally or across multiple states.

  • Background in paralegal studies, legal technology, or emerging areas of legal practice.

  • Community college, open-access, or access-oriented institutional experience.

  • Strong professional network in legal education and the broader legal profession.

  • A compensation package that includes a base salary ($100,000 - $120,000) + equity grant

    • Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.
