Role: Clinical Lab Scientist I, responsible for performing complex clinical laboratory testing within the Immunology department.
Key Duties: Independently conducts moderate to highly complex tests following established procedures, prepares reagents and controls, evaluates specimen acceptability, calculates and documents results, and ensures timely reporting. Maintains and calibrates laboratory equipment, performs quality control, troubleshooting, and proficiency testing. Ensures safety, cleanliness, and proper waste disposal in the lab. Provides supervision and training to unlicensed staff, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and supports new techniques and procedures. Maintains confidentiality and adheres to safety and infection control policies. Communicates effectively with team members and management.
Qualifications & Skills: Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related sciences, and current state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license if required. Zero to three years of laboratory experience preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong typing and automation skills. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks, lift objects up to 50 pounds with assistance, and have good eye-hand coordination. Testing for color blindness may be required.
