The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct speech therapy rehabilitation to patients based on physician referrals, within a patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities include

  • assessing, establishing, and modifying functional treatment goals
  • charting accurately and timely
  • utilizing therapy software effectively
  • collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to meet patient needs
  • overseeing and evaluating care provided by Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellows (CFYs) when applicable
  • following treatment plans in accordance with regulations
  • participating in community health projects as appropriate
  • demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to policies
  • assisting in patient evacuation and ensuring safety

Qualifications include

  • graduation from an accredited speech therapy program (MS or MA)
  • ASHA certification (CCC) or eligibility for Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • current state licensure and CPR certification
  • preferably 1 year of experience; new graduates are welcome

Key skills involve

  • proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
  • excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • good body mechanics and decision-making skills
  • knowledge of legal, regulatory, and safety standards in post-acute care
