Role: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team providing individualized, high-quality, safe patient care. They practice under licensed and unlicensed caregivers, guided by evidence-based standards, the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, and the ANA Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the nursing process—assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—using critical thinking and evidence-based practices.
  • Deliver patient-centered care that respects cultural diversity and involves patients and families through effective communication and partnership.
  • Coordinate safe, quality care through interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and promoting a respectful environment.
  • Participate in performance improvement, research, and shared governance activities to ensure continuous quality enhancement.
  • Support professional development by completing required competencies, mentoring, and serving as a preceptor.
  • Advocate for evidence-based practice, uphold organizational policies, and contribute to protocol development.
  • Plan proactively for patient care across the continuum and utilize resources efficiently.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Nursing degree (Bachelor's preferred).
  • Current RN license (single-state or multi-state Compact).
  • Basic Life Support certification (or equivalent).
  • Less than one year of clinical experience preferred; completion of accredited nursing program required.
  • Strong clinical knowledge, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills.
