Role Overview: The Pharmacy Technician II supports pharmacy operations within a health plan, performing technical tasks under supervision. Responsibilities include managing inbound and outbound calls, processing prior authorizations based on established criteria, and escalating issues outside scope to supervisors or pharmacists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle call center functions with proper etiquette and documentation (50%)
  • Assess and process prior authorization requests, referring complex cases as needed (30%)
  • Triages and escalates questions or issues beyond technician scope (20%)

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School diploma or GED required; pharmacy technician training preferred
  • Minimum one year of pharmacy technician experience in healthcare or retail
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) and licensed by DORA required
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of pharmacy practices, prescription processing, and third-party billing; proficiency with Microsoft Office preferred
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting and manage multiple tasks

Additional Details: This role is remote, based in Colorado, with daytime hours. Compensation ranges from $21.00 to $28.60 per hour.
