This role requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment. The candidate must have at least one year of nursing experience.
- Certifications are essential, including ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate for those administering chemotherapy, and APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider card within 12 months for pediatric oncology patients.
- Advanced certifications such as ACLS are required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op, and Specialty Procedural areas.
- PALS is required for pediatric units, with a 30-day window for non-pediatric nurses to obtain it.
- NRP certification is mandatory for NICU, with a 30-day period for non-NICU nurses to acquire it.
- Fetal Monitoring certification through the National Credential Center or AWOHNN is necessary for L&D nurses before completing orientation.
- RN Fellowship specialties demand one year of RN experience, except for the Refresh to Acute Care track.
- Newly licensed RNs must obtain ACLS and/or PALS within six months.
