Role Overview

The RN Manager of the Emergency Department is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, and ensuring high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multi-department operations, supervise, train, and evaluate staff, and enforce policies and procedures.
• Provide comprehensive nursing care based on the nursing process, addressing patients' physical, psychological, social, and educational needs.
• Participate in budget development, monitor expenses, and ensure resource conservation.
• Handle staff scheduling, recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and professional development.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory standards, participate in survey readiness, and manage quality improvement initiatives.
• Address ethical issues, maintain confidentiality, and manage departmental incidents.
• Assist with special projects and lead staff meetings as needed.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Valid RN license in the state, CPR and ACLS certifications.
• 3-5 years clinical experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry, with 2 years management experience.
• Strong decision-making, accuracy, and computer skills, with excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing.
