Position Overview: This role involves supporting children and their families by reducing stress and anxiety related to hospitalization, procedures, and routine changes. The specialist assesses individual needs, develops personalized care plans, and collaborates with healthcare teams to promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Assessment: Observe, evaluate, and document the needs of children and families, adjusting care plans accordingly.
• Intervention: Implement evidence-based strategies within a multidisciplinary team to meet patient goals, advocate for patients, and resolve clinical issues.
• Education: Tailor teaching approaches based on patient age, cultural background, and comprehension, ensuring safety and promoting understanding of procedures and illness.
• Performance Improvement: Contribute to data collection, analyze outcomes, and participate in initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction and care quality.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) within one year, with BLS certification within 30 days.
• Bachelor’s degree in Child Development or related field, including required coursework, plus completion of a 600-hour internship.
• Fluent in English, proficient with basic computer skills, and sensitive to multicultural needs.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and advocacy skills.
