Role Overview: The Supplemental Occupational Therapist evaluates patients, develops and initiates personalized treatment plans to enhance independence across physical, cognitive, perceptual, and developmental domains. They document progress, instruct patients and caregivers, and serve as a clinical resource.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments with physician referrals.
  • Interpret evaluation findings and develop goals and treatment programs.
  • Implement advanced occupational therapy treatments and monitor patient progress.
  • Supervise assistants and technicians, motivate and educate patients and caregivers.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team and document accurately.
  • Serve as a clinical resource, mentor staff, and participate in program development.
  • Contribute to community outreach and professional education activities.
  • Ensure safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care in compliance with policies.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • License from the Texas Board of Occupational Therapy Examiners.
  • Preferred one year of experience; ability to mentor and lead clinical initiatives.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75-100 pounds, stand, walk, and perform fine motor tasks.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varied schedules and patient care areas.
