Role: This position is for a locum Anesthesiologist responsible for providing comprehensive anesthesia care for surgical patients in a critical access facility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative anesthesia, including general, regional, and local techniques.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Monitor vital signs continuously and adjust anesthesia levels to ensure patient safety.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies during procedures and document care accurately.
  • Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology through ongoing education.

Qualifications & Skills

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school with residency in anesthesiology.
  • Board certification by the American Board of Anesthesiology or equivalent.
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in Alaska.
  • At least one year of clinical anesthesia experience preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, manual dexterity, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing patient needs in fast-paced settings.
