Responsibilities
- Assess emergency situations and determine appropriate medical response based on protocols.
- Provide advanced medical care using equipment such as defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, suction devices, and IVs.
- Communicate compassionately with patients and their families, offering reassurance and information.
- Act as team leader during scenes, managing the scene and unit as needed.
- Collaborate professionally with healthcare and public safety personnel.
- Utilize triage skills for efficient call handling and patient prioritization.
- Deliver patient care aligned with clinical protocols and safety standards.
- Assist with patient mobility and transport as required.
- Coordinate with receiving facilities for medical direction and critical information transfer.
- Drive and support ambulance response, including navigation to minimize response times.
- Maintain community relations through participation in outreach programs and regular communication with healthcare facilities.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED; advanced education preferred.
- Current Montana Paramedic Certification or pending application.
- National Registry certification.
- Valid State Driver’s License and a driving record compliant with safety policies.
- Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS certifications.
- Ability to pass drug, background, and physical agility screenings.
