Role Overview

The psychologist provides mental health assessments, diagnoses, treatment, and crisis intervention for adult and child members with diverse psychiatric needs. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, they develop and evaluate individualized treatment programs, including outpatient psychotherapy for individuals, families, and groups. They conduct psychological assessments, interpret test results, and maintain confidential records in compliance with regulations. The role involves collaborating with physicians on medication evaluation, utilizing community resources for patient support, and providing clinical supervision to trainees. Additional duties include developing psychoeducational groups, supporting families, and ensuring safety protocols. The position requires strong diagnostic skills, knowledge of DSM-V, evidence-based practices, and excellent communication abilities. Supervision of mental health staff and participation in departmental initiatives are also key components.

Qualifications & Skills

  • PhD/PsyD/EdD in Clinical Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Psychologist licensure (California or any state) required at hire, with a National NPI.
  • Familiarity with DSM-V, psychological testing, and a broad range of psychiatric conditions.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices, psychotherapy techniques, and bio-psycho-social models.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and ethical standards, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Experience in crisis intervention, psychological testing, and treatment planning preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment programs; provide outpatient psychotherapy.
  • Conduct psychological assessments and interpret test results; document treatment progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians on psychotropic medication evaluation and management.
  • Utilize community resources for member support; develop psychoeducational groups.
