Role Overview

The Physical Therapist provides comprehensive physical therapy services, including evaluation, treatment planning, implementation, re-assessment, discharge planning, and documentation across various settings. They collaborate with healthcare professionals, communicate effectively with patients and families of diverse backgrounds, and participate in program development and protocol adherence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct evaluations, review patient history, perform assessments, and communicate findings to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.
  • Implement treatment protocols based on evaluation results, monitor patient progress, and modify plans as needed, consulting with other healthcare providers.
  • Complete discharge planning, ensure accurate documentation, and manage timely patient care records, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Manage time efficiently to meet productivity standards, demonstrating flexibility, empathy, and professionalism to ensure seamless patient access to care.
  • Pursue continuing education, serve as a clinical instructor, and assist in mentoring and onboarding new staff and students.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Degree in Physical Therapy (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral) from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure in Maryland, DC, and/or Virginia as required for the location.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification.
