Role: Develops and coordinates coding educational programs to ensure accurate documentation and coding practices.
Responsibilities: Assess provider documentation and coding competency, identify improvement opportunities, and deliver training. Acts as a subject matter expert, providing guidance to providers and coders. Establishes quality review processes, evaluates documentation for clarity and completeness, and conducts audits to identify risks and opportunities. Ensures compliance with regulations and maintains clear communication with teams.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with at least three years of relevant experience.
Skills: Strong knowledge of coding guidelines, documentation practices, and regulatory changes. Excellent communication, training, and auditing abilities. Physical requirements include frequent sitting, standing, and data entry, with occasional lifting and movement.
Certifications: Certified Coding Associate (CCA), CCS-P, COC, CPC®, RHIA, or RHIT from AHIMA or AAPC.
