Role Summary

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP) Resident provides psychiatric services within outpatient behavioral health and medical clinics, collaborating with a care team to deliver comprehensive, culturally-aware, client-centered care. The role involves consultation with clinical staff, reviewing cases, prescribing and managing medications, and referring patients to specialists when needed. The Psych NP Resident participates in the APP Residency program, fulfills all training requirements, and works under supervision from senior medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s or DNP in Nursing, certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
  • Active ARNP and RN licenses in Washington State
  • Certification from AANPCB or ANCC; DEA registration if prescribing controlled substances
  • Knowledge of Latino/Hispanic culture and bilingual ability in English and Spanish preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Compliance with health screening, vaccination, and BLS requirements

Physical & Work Environment

Moderate noise level, physical ability to perform duties including standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Supervised by senior staff, with evaluations conducted regularly.
