EEG Technician
The EEG Technician is responsible for acquiring accurate EEG tests, including routine and intraoperative EEG, following infection control guidelines and departmental policies. They manage all office duties such as paperwork, filing, and test-resulting, ensuring proper documentation and record management. Proficient in operating EEG systems, they obtain artifact-free recordings, document patient histories, and calibrate equipment as per manufacturer guidelines. They perform electrode placement using the international 10/20 system, maintain a clean work environment, and ensure equipment and electrodes are disinfected. The role includes verifying charges, documenting procedures electronically, and retrieving records efficiently. The technician may perform additional testing based on experience, with supervision adjusted accordingly. Qualifications include a high school diploma, BLS certification, and computer skills, with preferred experience in healthcare and EEG-specific training or registration.
