Role Overview
The Ambulatory Nurse applies a systematic nursing approach, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice.

The Ambulatory Nurse applies a systematic nursing approach, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide healthcare to individuals, families, and communities within the RN scope of practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver competent patient and family care, ensuring adherence to standards and accurate documentation.
- Provide health and wellness education to individuals and groups.
- Act as a preceptor and support staff and student development.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and assist in developing departmental standing orders.
- Perform symptom-based telephone triage, patient education for surgical and non-surgical cases, wound care, specimen collection, and DME fitting.
- Hands-on procedures such as suture/staple removal and wound care.
- Current RN license in Illinois and BLS certification within 30 days.
- Diploma in Nursing and relevant work experience.
- Strong clinical assessment, patient education, and documentation skills.
- Leadership abilities and capacity to support team development.
