Role Overview

Provide routine and advanced respiratory care, manage ventilators, implement cardiorespiratory protocols, and perform advanced airway procedures. Assist physicians with bronchoscopy, monitor patient consciousness and vital signs, deliver IV conscious sedation, and initiate ventilator management. Perform advanced airway care such as tracheotomy changes, extubation, intubation, and deliver high-frequency ventilators and nitric oxide. In NICU, deliver surfactant, perform intubation, and attend high-risk deliveries. Optional duties include transport, intubation, and acting as back-up charge therapist. Follow departmental policies and perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Associate degree or equivalent in Respiratory Care
  • New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist credential from NBRC
  • ACLS/PALS and BLS certification
  • Six months to one year critical care experience preferred
  • Strong assessment, monitoring, and procedural skills
  • Ability to work varied shifts and respond to emergent needs
  • Commitment to safety and patient care standards
