The MA III performs administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records under supervision. Clinical duties include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting patient demographics and medication information, preparing patients for exams, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. The role involves medication administration.
Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and completion of a formal MA training program with pharmacology, anatomy/physiology, medication administration, and clinical externship. No prior experience is required; healthcare or ambulatory clinic experience is preferred. Skills needed are excellent communication, ability to work independently and in a team, proficiency with computers, and carrying out delegated tasks. Certification from an approved program (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA) is required.
