Most job descriptions are jargon that no one reads. Let's cut straight to the chase.
About Asha Health
- What we do: At Asha Health, we help outpatient clinics transform into "AI clinics". What the heck does that even mean? Sounds like a good question for the interview process.
- You wont have to eat Ramen (unless you want to): Backed by Y Combinator, General Catalyst, 186 Ventures, Reach Capital and many more.
- Tbh we're not big believers in credentials but our team has some cool folk: Team includes AI product leaders from companies like Google, physician executives from major health systems, etc.
About The Role
- You'll be both a rockstar IC and have the opportunity to lead a team of engineers.
- We aren't looking for managers or 10+ YOE, our ideal fit is 3-7 YOE and very hungry. We don't care if it's your first time leading a team. We like to make bets on people based on their trajectory, not their tenure.
- You'll build a lot of AI agents.
- You'll get super deep in healthcare workflows.
- If this job was posted pre 4.6, we would have said your job is to be a stellar engineer. Given that the world changed in February, so have role expectations: you'll be expected to be a strong product manager, designer, and backend/AI engineer all in one -- just like the rest of the team.
Who Should Not Apply
- The role is in person 5 days a week, most of the team works 6 days a week. We wouldn't advise most of our friends to join seed stage startups. If this level of intensity isn't your cup of tea, hit that X button.
- If you're just looking for a job without a particular passion for AI in healthcare, hit that X button.
- If you're looking for the highest possible comp, hit that X button.
- If you are not super confident in your engineering & product skills, for example if we asked you to build a production-ready version of Instagram in 2 days and that sounds difficult, hit that X button.
Who Should Apply
- You have some deep rooted passion to "fix the healthcare system!!"
- You are seeking rapid career growth and think that joining a seed stage startup + being a significant contributor in its rapid growth is the best way for you to get there.
- You are a builder at heart. No one needed to tell you in college/after college to do side projects. You didn't do them to get jobs, you just did them. Because stuff was cool. Because you cared.
- You value substance over dressing. Meaning you want to be part of a team which has an ethos to win by having the most merit, not the most marketing.
Responsibilities
Everything. You'd be the 7th engineer on the team; the product is obviously built and live with customers. But we're still small enough that we're looking for all rounders that take a high degree of ownership.
(Suggested) Qualifications
- Graduated with a bachelors in computer science or related degree from a top engineering school.
- Very strong backend experience, preferably in 0-1 or 1-10 environments.
- Worked at an early stage startup (Seed - Series C) before.
- Experience building AI agents before with a high degree for reliability (we will ask you to impress us with the clever backend engineering techniques you've used).
- Built and scaled your own projects to significant revenue.
- Understanding of US healthcare/health-tech.
Compensation
$200k+ generous equity
